There's pretty much nothing in here. Not worth the trip. It was very clean and very well kept. But just an empty mall. These pictures are the only place we went in.

This mall completely sucks it at one time was probably a great mall they just opened new store up in it and it sucks to nothing interesting at all and had some crazy woman cussing in the store yesterday sure ain't the way of success for a business I would of ran her off making the business look bad it's already bad but good grief have human decency not to cuss out loud Infront of everyone not the way to attract customers I would rather go to middlesboro ky mall best one we got locally that actually had decent stores in it still but it not as good as it use to be but still holds up enough.

I went here in the late 80s early 90s and it was my favorite place to shop locally.
It used to have an arcade that back then I thought was the coolest place on earth, and a Magic Mart where my mom got my clothes and toys including Nintendo and Sega games.
It also had "The board room", a high quality buffet that had a unique layout that maximized socializing but also catered to those anti-social.
Sadly all are long gone.

The mall is a hollow shell of its former self but almost all malls are. Though technically, it's actually doing well comparably since it's still open, unlike so many others that've fallen.

Legend has it that the owners killed the mall by demanding too much rent from successful businesses. But Walmart came into town and the advent of online shopping sucked the life out of everything around.
Thus the history of why we in Harlan, and countless other small towns across America, have few jobs and "nothing to do" but visit a soulless mundane Walmart.

Village Center Mall is still a fun stop and retains the warm atmosphere it had in the 80s.
Certainly an underutilized space that could make a comeback at any time.

Be glad you did- she did an amazing job. The mall itself is sad. I wish something more was being done with it.

Visited BIG LOTS. They have a bunch of things that we normally don't see. Foods such as stuffed olives, stuffed with everything. Smoked salmon, international foods as well.
