Silver in the City has a lot of cute jewelry and decor, but there is such a heavy emphasis on far-left political talk points that it is definitely not a place where "all feel welcome". Parents be warned that there are f-bombs and curse words featured on many of their products. There are also a lot of "witchy" and occult themed items.

Our first visit to Carmel and we really enjoyed this store. We spend a long time looking at all the fun stuff. Bought a gift and a free things for myself including a fun total eclipse 2024 item.

Ok now this is what I call “The stuff dreams are made of!!!!”.
Just a chance visit while strolling around Arts district and my goodness Silver in the city has the cutest, prettiest, bestest (I know that’s not a word) and awesome collection of stones, jewelry, journals, book marks, oh and the stickers!!!, you name it! I don’t even have the complete list here.
What we planned as 2 mins ended up into a 20 minute dive into Silver in the City world and trust me, so trust me that I wasn’t done yet but I had to head out just then.
This one’s a keeper for anyone who wants unique and different gifts, for anyone who likes to hoard journals and for anyone who loves adoring their walls and tables with fancy stuff. Ah I could go on and go on but you get the gist!

A guy working behind the counter approached my 11-year-old daughter in front of her friend and her mom, and accused her of stealing a ring. My daughter is the sweetest most honest girl you’ll meet. She told him she did not steal it and then he had her show him where she put it back. Turns out he never even looked at the cameras before approaching her. That would have given him the answer. Won’t be back.

I’m sure I’ll go back, because it’s a fun little store, but I didn’t appreciate the part, where my 8 year old daughter, and I were happily looking at some stuff and suddenly being stalked by one of the workers like we were abt to start stealing. I get people steal, and it’s probably an issue, but I’ve lived in Carmel my whole 50 years, and not interested in taking up a life of crime at this point. It’s insulting and makes for a bad shopping experience. Definitely changed my mind at spending any money there that night for sure.

Awesome store! I don't like shopping, but I could spend hours in Silver in the City. The staff is always engaging, friendly, and helpful, but not smothering. They have time of fun, high quality merchandise and they price their products fairly. We always buy crazy, silly socks and retro tree ornaments for our family for Christmas Eve from this store. It's a great store and (bonus) we get to support a local small business!

Stopped in the Carmel location. At first blush, it looks like a cute store. But within five minutes, the four sales women were definitely watching me. Ploys of straightening shelves near me, restocking, talking about products right next to me.....they just followed me right around the store. It was disconcerting and creepy. I'm in my 50's, a professional. Was going to buy something but decided not to. Note to store owner: If you're that worried about theft, either close up shop or set up cameras so someone in back can monitor them. Do not follow customers around.

I shop in Silver in the City every couple of months. I’ve been pretty loyal to the Carmel location, and I have enjoyed going there to buy cute little gifts for various occasions. As I was shopping there today, one of the women working the counter asked one of the other employees (in a not so subtle manner) to follow me around the store to ensure that I wasn’t stealing anything. I’m not sure what prompted that behavior other than the fact that I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. It was very demeaning and made me incredibly uncomfortable. I’m a professional, I’ve never stolen anything in my life, and I’m a frequent customer of the store. I have always treated the people that work in the store with the utmost respect. I’m very disappointed by the behavior of the staff. Although I was polite because I was with a friend who loves shopping there as well, I will not be returning to the store. It was a very unfortunate experience.
