This place was great and so was person running the place. You want art, they got it. You want jewelry, yep. You want clothing, for sure. You want a cute clutch, heck yes. You want honey, body products, stickers, keychains, koozies, whatever. They will probably have something for you. What I really love is the flowers. It was so great to just do one stop for a thoughtful local made gift and some flowers. This is my now go to place for gifts and I will have to come back to treat myself too.

Shop Local KC has the cutest merchandise! I found two prints while waiting for my order of 400 flowers for Teacher Appreciation Week. The owner, Katie, was terrific and made sure I was delighted with the flowers. I can't wait to check back when the store has new products!

If the owner, Katie, is calling me berating me to take this down, then imagine what else she is hiding. For Valentines day, I pre-ordered "vased flower arrangements". If you look at the picture of the piece of paper, what I was promised was a large bundle of flowers in an actual vase for $60(!). What I actually received was 7 flowers in a mason jar. A Mason Jar is not a vase. And the flowers were really disappointing. This was super disappointing and felt like a clear case of false advertisement. I won't ever pre order something from here again. I called the shop to let them know I wasn't happy and I would like a refund and to return them. Katie answered the phone and didn't seem to care that it was false advertisement. She said "there should be 12 stems" and when I told her there was only 7, her excuse was that there should be 12 stems of flowers AND greenery. There was not even 12 stems altogether. Finally she then tried to coerce me into not returning them because "I won't find anything anywhere else". I don't recommend coming here because they have shady business practices. I plan on following up with Kansas Consumer protection because this is unacceptable. Take your business somewhere else because they don't care about the consumer.

ETA: I would like to add that upon seeing this review, Katie decided to call me and get mad at me for "damaging their business's reputation". She is completely unaware that it is the consumers decision to determine if a product or service is considered acceptable. She argued that I shouldn't have left the review after I got my money returned. But that's not how rating a business works. The owner stalked my facebook profile and deemed me "a good person and someone who she would probably get along with" but is mad that I decided to target "Women owned business". I don't know why the hell she is bringing gender into this. But from the phone call she fully expected me to be happy with a poor product simply because I am a man and she is a woman. I am glad Katie has her politics figured out but you don't call a customer and berate them for tarnishing your companies reputation simply because you think I am "supporting the patriarchy." I firmly believe that the only reason she stalked my facebook profile is (through a mutual friend too) because she assumed I was some misogynistic jerk and she needed a reason to be mad about my glowingly negative review.

Shop Local KC is pure magic! I love that they go above and beyond to showcase and support small businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs. You can see that they care about being part of keeping Kansas City vibrant.

Their floral arrangements are always impressive - they are so creative and fun and last forever! I had some once that they deemed a little too wilted to sell - I thought they were perfect and they still lasted longer than an arrangement from a bigger floral retailer.

Lovely handmade items and the nicest staff. I bought Christmas presents and the lady checking me out took off the price tags she could and marked out the other item's price, so helpful. Love it! Will return many times over!
