Horrible customer service that includes lying about the provenance of a purse I purchased from them online. I called to tell them about my situation, which was that they marketed a purse as being made and designed in Paris, but when it came it looked like it was made in an H&M sweatshop in Tunisia (the label said Made in Tunisia on a flimsy looking tag), so much for ethics and sustainability… I was super cordial with the employee over the phone, and she relayed to me she understood my frustration, we ended the call by her telling me she would let the owner know and they would rectify the situation by getting in touch. After 5 days they never reached out to me. Guess I’m not important enough to speak to. At this point they have refused to take any accountability for making false claims on their site. Lying about the origin of an item is shady and absolutely an illegal business practice. Think twice about spending your hard earned cash at this fraudulent business.

Response to owner: As I expected you take absolutely zero accountability and issue no apology for YOUR mistake. Give you grace, that’s funny, you just wasted MY time and ruined a xmas present….in what world could you not see the item was poorly made and most definitely not made where you were told. It takes 2 seconds to look inside the purse and see you literally have something made in a sweatshop. Blind faith will not get you far in any business…furthermore, I literally had to argue with Garmentory to give me a refund because at first they refused, even though my claims were valid. I finally had to complain to the Better Business Bureau to get either one of you to pay attention to my claim. And yes, I expect you to take this seriously as I only have a short window to get my refund…talk about refusing to accept you were wrong….do better. The purse will be arriving in a few days.

Absolutely my favorite place to shop. Incredibly curated clothing - unique, high quality, high fashion, somehow also incredibly comfortable!? The team is amazing and helpful. If you feel a little overwhelmed when you go in (as I do when I shop in general) just tell them - they'll give you as little or as much attention and assistance as you're up for. By shopping here over the last few years I've begun to create a truly beautiful wardrobe I love - having a mindfully filled closet keeps me from silly impulse buys I don't need or actually wear, which has been something I've struggled with in the past. 10/10 highly recommend Idlewild!

I just want to say these ladies are some of the best I've encountered when it comes to customer service and they can definitely relate when it comes to high fashion and giving advice on style. They are so kind and patient and that's the kind of service that makes clients want to buy the products you sell. I was able to purchase 2 fabulous items I have been dreaming about for a few months and I was able to do it today. I don't know the young ladies name who helped me today on 5/7/24 but she was great and very genuine. The first time I came in to the store 2 other woman were there I think the owner and another lady named "Tessa" forgive me if I get it confused but y'all are the best! If you're looking for that Paris, New York- Soho or Manhattan vibe boutique then this is the spot. The product is very fashion forward and eclectic with a street wear edge, everything I love! I highly recommend stopping in to see what they have to offer.

My wife is a huge fan of this store and the clothing from there is a regular part of her rotation, regardless of season. Tessa the owner is fantastic, as are all of the people who work with her. Super friendly and personable. The pieces are all unique with great style. They do a lot with local artists, from ceramics to jewelry, and are plugged into the local community with is awesome. Definitely worth checking out!

Staff is super friendly and impeccably creatively dressed. If you ask, they will help you style an item and recommend different pieces if you are going to an event or in search of something to fill a specific need. The store’s curation is beautiful and very contemporary. There are lots of interesting, easily wearable pieces that my eye often doesn’t fall on right away because of how attractive the unusual/textural/sculptural stuff is. The result of the aesthetic mix inspires thinking differently about dressing and styling, even when I don’t pick anything up. Fair warning—some of the price tags are steep, but A) not all of them are that way, and B) higher cost per piece is often the nature of shopping for high quality pieces from small brands and emerging designers who do not have the scale and/or willingness to cut costs on sourcing materials, production processes, labor practices, craftsmanship, or thoughtful design. And you can always wait for a sale—there are very good deals on a lot of cool, niche, sometimes very high-end pieces. Nothing here comes from a 52-micro-season brand. Like its peer boutiques on Vine St (Continuum, TMBTITWI, Sloane), everything at Idlewild has careful thought and artistry behind it. Go, browse, be mindful and open-minded—the people who make up this business are that way themselves.

I am a local. Sometimes I just like to pop in when I am walking the dog, etc. Sarah is so nice and knowledgeable, that we can converse about many designers, even if they don’t carry them. It is more about your personal style. I love the clothes and am free to try them on without pressure. And have also spent a few dollars. But the collection is wonderfully curated. Cheers to this boutique and having it in Cincy.

These fantastic people are passionate about the industry and take pride in selling garments from designers that ethically and/or sustainably make their clothes. Idlewild is my happy place.
