My wife and I Recently went to the Henry County clerk of court to change my stepson’s last name. We were told that it is all done online so we went through the necessary process. When the court documents were delivered to us via email, we took them to the clerk of court as instructed and they said they had no idea what we were supposed to do, that we should look online. It was a simple name change. Another woman from the clerk’s office came over and pulled a piece of paper out of the drawer right there and told us we needed to fill it out. After filling it out, our clerk of court had no idea what we were supposed to do with it and were unwilling to help us find out. My wife called the county in Missouri my stepson was born in and they were able to talk us through the rest of the process. The entire time we were involved with Henry County clerk, we felt like we were annoying them. Our son was very excited about this name change and our clerk of court made it a terrible experience.

Unnecessary rudeness and doesn’t care when it comes to peoples needs. I had to get bail money transferred to me since it was getting sent to the wrong person and they made me go twice even though I had called them and ask to get that changed. They force you to go sign it at the same time with the person who bails you out even though we both called asking them to change it, and they knew it was us.

Very rude lady working in the office.
Not sure what her problem is but has no customer service skills and shouldn't even be answering phones. Get a new job if you can't be a decent human to people.

When there is a scheduled court date, how come you don't have judges? It's very inconvenient when a large number of people show up without notice that the court date has been canceled. It's all about the money in Henry County, especially for the state troopers.
