This was a lovely stop, & well worth the 2h drive. I've only even been to one other yarn store, so this was a relief to find close to us on vacation.

They have quite a bit of yarn available, some I recognized, a lot I didn't. Also there are quite a few samples to show off yarn, some samples even for sale like mittens, scarves, hats, cowls, etc. Just getting a good look at everything takes some time, & there are a lot of books & magazines, crochet and knitting. I like that they had older versions of the like from the past decade, so I can see what I missed from not yarning (beginner, little over a year).

Betty was nice & talked about various yarns & content and the like, & they had a decent sale for much of their stuff (maybe not a huge sale, but 20-30% off is good for me). The door was locked when I showed up, but I read the notes on the door & one showed Betty's phone to call so she could open up (small town, lives across the street) & I have no complaints about that. So long as I could look at yarn that's not Hobby Lobby or Walmart, I was satisfied to wait a couple minutes.

I'd stop here again the next time we visit for sure. Plenty of other shops on the other side of the state, so this is a piece that the SW area can enjoy. And there's a corner store right down the main road from it for snacks or the restroom.

So much yarn, and so much variation! Lots of colors, unique yarns, and materials for knitters, crocheters, drop spinners, etc. Lovely selection of silks and cotton blends as well as wools and alpaca. The woman at the shop was very helpful too! Well worth the short trip off the 70 freeway. 🙂

I visited this shop again, but it was initially listed as closed, so I called the phone listed and the owner said they are open by appointment because of personal reasons. So if you call ahead, you can talk with the owner and arrange a time to visit (we went in the morning).

Plenty of yarn is in stock, in many varieties (alpaca, cotton, merino, wool, craft yarns) and in different brands also (cascade in different weights, Queensland collection, Ella rae, sulka legato), lots of books (cascade, knitting magazines, crochet books), needles (bamboo, addi turbo, straights), and lots of odds and ends in between.

I had taken some cash just in case, and asked when I arrived about payment, and the owner no longer accepts cards. She takes checks or cash. And she also has a lot as 50% off (note the date of this review and inquire first about the sale longevity). There are finished projects in the store too that you can purchase (not sure about all, but those that are have price tags, I bought mittens), so take some time to look around when you can.

This yarn shop is a slice of " yarn heaven". They have so many unusual yarns and the clerk, was very knowledgeable about each one. Well worth the drive to get there!
